VI.4 The tools and media are compatible with existing standards of delivery modes.

◎ Recommended Standard

Expectations

    1. In general, using D2L to facilitate an online course satisfies this standard.

    2. When using tools outside of D2L, or other instructional media, utilize only those that have widespread availability to your students.

    3. Technology should be used in a way to preserve student confidentiality, with regard to grades and communication with the instructor.

Examples

    • Delivering large media files to students via physical media, if they do not have a fast enough Internet connection.

    • Streaming media in popular, widely-accepted formats.

    • Facilitating assignment submission via the Dropbox--not via email, or paper copies.

    • Facilitating exam submission via D2L or some other electronic mechanism.

    • If offered by an institution, linking materials from the institution's library e-reserves through D2L's Learning Object Repository (LOR).
