VI.3 If utilized, third-party tools/content are easily accessible to students, and clear instructions are provided to articulate how to access/utilize them.
◎ Recommended Standard
Expectations
If using tools like Cengage's MindTap, McGraw-Hill's Connect, Pearson's MyLab, etc., make sure you provide clear instructions on how they will be utilized in the course, how students will access them, and where students need to go for support.
When using any third-party tool or content that is not web based, you will need to provide students with a download link for the tool/content, as well as instructions on how to use it, and where to go for support.
If the software is included with your textbook, simply direct the students to installation instructions, or include them in your course.
Again, when utilizing technologies in your courses, make sure to keep your students' experiences in mind. A video may work well for a student on campus or one with a high-speed/broadband Internet connection; however, a user with a limited internet connection may have difficulties accessing or viewing the video in an acceptable amount of time.
Consider using one of the cloud-based document management tools (e.g. Google Docs) for the management of your course documents, to ensure accessibility.
