Diary2014

March 4: Today, I mailed a copy of Quinceanera to Steve Taylor. This past December, I finally (after many years of wishing) found an email address for him. He agreed to give moron a listen, and so I compiled a sort of best-of-moron CD for him. As I wrote him, my hope is that he'll like it enough to want to produce a re-recording of, say, the ten best moron songs, or that he'll endorse the project to someone he knows who'll take on the role of producer. Honestly, I just hope that he enjoys the songs. And as I wrote him, I am very flexible about all options. If the producer understandably wanted to fire the current lead singer (and lead guitarist and lead keyboardist), I'd be happy with back-up tambourine--and I'd shake that puppy like a Holy Roller with a rattler in his shirt.

STEVE TAYLOR IS GOING TO LISTEN TO MORON!!!

Ahem. Sorry for the outburst. Through most of the existence of moron, for most of its 15 years, the thought in the back of my mind has been: get Steve Taylor to listen to moron. And with AQBWF moron's best CD...together with moron hits from the past...now is the time for moron to have an audience with Steve. But if in his professional opinion (he's been in the Christian music industry for more than 30 years, with many of his own albums, with a resume that includes writing for and producing the Newsboys' mega-hit albums) he doesn't see a future for moron, I won't be devastated. I love moron, and I like doing what I'm doing: moron's unique brand of Christian music is just my personal expression of trust and joy in Jesus Christ, my Savior.

But I'd be lying if I were to say that I wasn't a bit excited that STEVE TAYLOR IS GOING TO LISTEN TO MORON!!!
