February, 2001: I'd estimate that I have at least a dozen songs ready for the next CD, due for worldwide release (Lord willing) in June, 2001. It's gonna to be different. It's gonna smack of attitude. It's gonna feature singin' and dancin' (which is hard to hear) and praisin', a little whoopin' and hollerin', and (golly!) a guitar solo.
May 5, 2001: I have typed in all the lyrics to the new CD, called "dinner with polonius."
Last weekend, Doug and I spent 20 hours or so mixing all (23) of the tunes. You will really like it; it's a fair bit different than "tree hugger." It starts off with a trilogy of trilogies: 3 songs about death, 3 songs about abortion, and 3 Bible story songs. After that, there is still a fortnight's worth of great tunes (all praise to Jesus for Him allowing me to "write" them.)
I'm listening to a copy of the mixes while Doug is in Nashville at a conference. When he returns, we'll master the CD and send it to the plant. Hopefully, it will be ready by early to mid-June.
June 15, 2001: The CD is finished, and I have about 950 copies in my studio, so order a free copy for yourself. If there is a demand for more, I'll make more.
November 11, 2001: There is not a whole lot to report or read about. This is a pretty sad excuse for a journal--should be called a monthal or a semiannualal. The only new piece of equipment I purchased since "dinner" was released is a drum machine (so, what was I using before? Don't ask.) I had looked at buying a new electric guitar very closely, but no matter how hard I pushed, the Lord seemed to keep that door closed. I have recorded a few songs and am considering putting out an EP. If I do, I think it will be called "God bless amoronica." I'll have to find the time, some extra money laying around, at least one or two worthy tunes, and, most difficult of all, people who will accept a CD with my carving up of "God bless America."
