January 24, 2011: moron continues; I managed to find and buy five blank Quantegy ADAT tapes (on eBay) this past Fall (see the July 21, 2010 diary entry.)
December 2010 and January 2011 were and have been very productive, by moron standards. Several new songs were written; some are on tape, and some are in the works. No vocals have been added to the newest songs, because I haven't had the house to myself for any extended period of time. I need to hurry, though, because my voice seems to be deteriorating--something I've been aware of for several years now, but it seems worse lately.
There is a different spirit to this newest moron album in comparison to some past efforts: there is much more emphasis on simple praise tunes (both upbeat and mellow) on this record, and fewer attempts at cleverness and humor and preachiness.
April 6, 2011: I am having second thoughts about the album title. It's not a fear of controversy surrounding a (satirical) dedication of the album to Planned Parenthood. It's more that, I am thinking now, the title will be too distracting from the main focus of the album.
God be praised--there are a lot of songs in various stages of production.
