Sale Harriers : Christmas Handicap
Sunday 17th December 2017 10.30am Start
Wythenshawe Athletics Track
The Christmas Handicap an annual event.
Consists of two distances ie 10km and 5km,
This essentially is a fun training event though, and fancy dress is optional.
It is open to all club members, including social, athletes, coaches, team managers,
but also parents and relatives.
Competitors :
10Km : Seniors, veterans, under 20’s, some under 17’s.
5km : Under 13’s, 15’s and some under 17’s. Social members, coaches, team managers, but also parents / relatives. Also Veterans over 60.
Under 11’s (min age 9yrs) included if accompanied by an adult.
Prizes :
Bring a prize and win a prize, unwrapped and only a few pounds value needed.
Also Prizes to first three to finish (any age).
Also if we have enough prizes, then winners prizes as below.
Also in 10k, fastest man and woman, fastest veterans, fastest U20’s or 17’s.
And 5k fastest Under 15 boy and girl, also under 13 boy and girl.
Course :
It will be on a multi-terrain course within the park.
Starting on the track it will follow trail paths by Nan Nook woods then the stream
Up as far as Gib Lane trail path, which it will follow up to Sale Road, where it will
Follow the perimeter trail to the lodge house next park entrance.
It will follow the park road to the Hall, turning right then left by the basket ball court
And play area. Going up the path between the stables and play area.
Turning by the stables follow the path to the stream, turning before the bridge and down the trail with the stream on your left, turn right when you reach the field and follow the path to the car park and track gate, the 10k will go around for a second lap.
10k a lap of the track to start and finish, 5k just a lap to finish.
