Just 4 Kids Magazine

A Christian magazine seeks stories and other submissions written by students. Students will be paid for any work that is published. Submission guidelines and payment information are available on the Just 4 Kids website.

Cricket Magazine

Cobblestone

Cobblestone magazine seeks students' poetry, commentary, and artwork for publication. Entries should be no more than 25 lines long.

Stone Soup

Students aged 8 to 13 are invited to submit artwork, poetry, stories, and other creative writing for publication in Stone Soup magazine. All contributors whose work is accepted for publication receive a certificate and two complimentary copies of their issue. Writers of stories, poems, and book reviews are paid $40 each; illustrators are paid $25 per illustration.

Winners will have their creative ideas turned into real things. Right now the contests are for writing a story (to be turned into a real book), creating a Phineas & Ferb comic strip (then meet the show's creators), and creating a Miniclip videogame character (to be turned into a real Miniclip character).

Spilling Ink Writing Contest

Short story (1000 words or less) writing contest for kids aged 8 to 12 using one of seven provided story prompts. Winning stories to be published on the Spilling Ink blog and winners to be awarded a Barnes & Noble gift certificate.

Creative Communication

Poetry and essay contests for students, with entry divisions for kindergarten through 12th grade. Top 10 entries in each division will receive a $50 savings bond, as well as publication in and a free copy of the published anthology of winning entries.

Legacy Project Listen to a Life Essay Contest

Interview an older adult about their life experiences, then write and submit a 300-word story to share what you learned. Winning stories will be published in the online Legacy Library. Grand prize is a Lenovo computer.
