1. Scaling up HIV/AIDS Prevention Services (SHAPS). This project is implemented in partnership with Wellshare International.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
2. Community Empowerment Program (CEP) in particular, School Garden in Arua District. This is funded by SNV/Netherlands Development Organization in partnership with eight (8) District Local Governments, UNICEF and Embassy of the United Kingdom of Netherlands.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
· To provide relevant agricultural skills and practices at the school gardens which serve as demonstration centers for the communities in close collaboration with institutions and government programs like NAADS.
· To link individual homes (about 25 households) into learning centers for their respective villages. The core objective is to strengthen and consolidate the extension service delivery mechanisms to households.
· Support for collective marketing by functional Farmer Economic Groups.
· Strengthening any other relevant activity for example, GEMs clubs, water and sanitation.
3. Environmental Movement in the South (EMIS) funded by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). This assists Albertine Rift area Civil Society to strengthen their engagement in responsible petroleum and energy development.
4. Harnessing the Potential of Oil to Contribute to Peace and Development in Uganda. This is funded by International Alert to carry out petroleum engagement activities in the whole of West Nile region. The specific districts where most of the activities are carried out are Nebbi, Arua and Moyo.
The overall goal is to achieve higher levels of trust and accountability among stakeholders in the Oil and Gas development.
5. Strengthening Civil society for Improved HIV/AIDS and OVC service delivery in Uganda (SCIPHA).
This project is implemented in partnership with Uganda Health Marketing Group (UHMG) and Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) funded by Civil Society Fund (CSF). This project aims at preventing HIV/AIDS among the mos tat risk populations (MARPS) or Key populations. These include long distance truck drivers, commercial sex workers, the youth in and out of school, infants of HIV/AIDS positive mothers, finishing communities and hard to reach communities. It involves HIV counseling and testing, sensitization and referrals.
