The following are the most recent projects that were implemented by RICE - WN with other partners:
Economic Empowerment of Women (EEW) for Small Scale Cross Border Traders (SSCBT) in Arua. This was funded by International Alert.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
· To contribute to reducing mistrust between neighboring countries
· To promote inclusion, tolerance and mutual respect amongst different identity groups.
· To address economic dimensions of conflict and peace building.
· To enhance active and responsible citizenship and open accountable institutions at all levels.
This was a pilot project implemented in Uganda and DRC
2. Uganda Malaria Consortium Partnership (UMCP) project which was incant to fight and prevent malaria in pregnant mothers and children under five years. This was a USAID funded project through a consortium for the three partners (Wellshare International, a malaria and childhood illness NGO secretariat and Malaria Consortium) who sub-granted RICE – WN to implement this project.
3. Community Empowerment Program funded by DFID through CEFORD. This project was to build capacity of the ordinary citizens to hold their leaders transparent and accountable for government programs and projects.
4. Advocacy and Behavior Change project to prevent HIV/AIDS among the youths in and out of school. This was USAID funded project through Uganda Program for Holistic Development (UPHOLD).
