The department was established and founded in December 2011 with the aim to spearhead the growth of RICE-WN and strengthen the current good practices of the organization. The department has four program areas which include;
(a) Trainings
Training is adding knowledge through capacity building given to individuals to perform better in their various sectors and departments, trainings help to empower staff and target groups to be able to meet their targets to achieve their desired goals prepare staff to be all round performers
Objective
To assess all the training needs of the organization and design appropriate interventions to execute them
To improve communication and leadership skills in order to perform better in the given areas of duties and hence improve performance in the organization
Activities
· Carrying out capacity assessment needs of all staff and designing training programs for the staff enhancement trainings
· Planning and performing all trainings on behalf of RICE-WN and document all training carried in and outside the organization
· Identification of the training needs within the staff and in the public
· Developing training manuals
· Developing training schedule
(b) Resource mobilization/fundraising
Sustained organizational operation revolves around a well maintained resource base. This therefore needs continues process of fund raising and resource mobilization in order to manage a sustained resource base.
Objective
To build a solid resource base that will enable sustained project implementation and organization management of RICE-WN
Activities
· Conducting trainings to build the capacity of the staff in resource mobilization.
· To solicit donors that can address sustainability of RICE-WN through partnership linkages
· To promote local fundraising through production of T-shirts for sale, commercial agriculture, fundraising dinners ...
· Developing of concepts and proposals for soliciting for funds
(c) Culture and resource centre
Culture is the cultivated behavior, a system of shared beliefs , values , customs and artifacts that the members of the society adhered to in order to cope with the world with others this aims at bring norms and values to the society as for RICE –WN the culture of team work and good time management ,the aim of this sub department is the need to incorporate culture as a strategic element in organization and national development taking to account other factors with special emphasis on rejuvenating the lost culture and building a resource centre that acts as a giver of information to the staff
Objective
To create the conditions of the RICE-WN cultures for flourish and to freely make the communities interact in a mutually beneficial manner and have resource centre that enables continuous data storage and research development in all field areas
Activities
· Organizing meeting to encourage dialogue meetings among cultures with the view of ensuring wider and balanced exchange in the society in favor of intercultural respect and culture of peace
· Rearranging the resource centre to enable all books are kept safe in the book shelve and in their respective orders
· Developing organization newsletters and brochures, and disseminate them to the public
· Documentation of all reports in the different departments of the organization both in hard and soft copies for future references
· Responsible for imaging in the organization to enable that RICE-WN visitors attain the respect they deserve
(d) Monitoring and Evaluation
Monitoring is the frequent assessment or supervision of project activities in progress to ensure their own course and on schedule in meeting the objectives. Evaluation is the periodic assessment of the project activities or it is judging and assessing the values of the projects
Objective
To provide a practical guide to facilitate the development installation and use of effective project level of M & E system for impact oriented management
Activities
· Encourage management of programmes, projects and management to ensure optimum use of funds, human and other resources
· Develop monitoring and evaluation tool for the organization
· Develop, implement and monitor fundraising strategy
· Make follow up of the project implemented by revising the work plan
