RICE - WN has five (5) Program Departments and two (2) Organization Development Departments. These are:

Organization Development Departments
Each department is headed by a head of department and has a goal and a set of objectives to achieve towards the overall organisational goal and objectives as seen below:
1. Community Development
This is the department that looks at community welfare improvement in four aspects of education, livelihoods, good governance and gender empowerment.
The vision for the department is “empowered and progressive community in west Nile.”
2. Community Health
It was formerly Health department and later changed to Community Health to cater for the element of Community orientation in RICE-WN.
Its full operation began in October 2010 to date. The department aims at achieving the set goals of RICE-WN from the health point of view, basing on the goal of the department, community health is focused to carry out all possible means to ensure that the general health of people in the grass grassroots communities is improved.
3. Development Research
This is the department that conducts research for development through ICT and monitoring and evaluation. It is the department that enhances the needs assessment, innovation and impact assessment. It has four programmes namely research, documentation and advocacy, Information and Communication Technology and monitoring and evaluation.
4. Environment and Natural Resources
Goal:
To promote efficient management of natural resources and environment to achieve sustainable development
Objectives:
· To enable communities identify and effectively utilize the natural resources around them.
· To promote environmental protection
· To promote efficient energy utilization
Activities
· Trainings on environmental management
· Tree planting and waste management
· Spreading of clean energy through energy saving stoves, briskets and solar energy.
· Dialogues on the best way to manage the environment and natural resources.

5. Sustainable agriculture
Goal:
To Improved agriculture for food and income security
Objectives:
· Enable farmer groups sustainable modern agricultural practices.
· To promote organic farming practices among the farmers.
· To increase the participation of women in commercial farming.

Organization Development Departments
1.Organization Development
The department was established and founded in December 2011 with the aim to spearhead the growth of RICE-WN and strengthen the current good practices of the organization. The department has four program areas which include;
2. Finance and Administration
The goal of this department is to achieve uniformity of the accounting function and Internal related controls. This is to ensure that RICE – WN has proper control to safe guard assets, check the accuracy and reliability of the accounting data, promote operational efficiency and encourage adherence to managerial policies.
