Description
Raised Pavement Markers are to be removed from streets before milling. The foreman typically counts the amount of RPM’s removed and informs you the number. The planned quantity is the maximum amount that can be removed for a given street. Installation of RPM’s typically occurs after striping, and the RPM color is dependent on the color of the striping. The installation of RPM’s is a moving operation; the contractor will grind out a hole, place the RPM inside of it and then place sealant on top of the RPM, before continuing to the next RPM location. The placement of RPM’s can be found on the pavement marking drawings in the Plans.
