CLOSE PROGRAM - http://www.columbus.gov/close
Description
When milling/planing a street the inspector should be checking the depth periodically to ensure it is an even mill. Butt joints are milled to normal depth unless a taper is called for. Milling must be full depth around castings. The gutter pans do not get milled unless otherwise stated in the plans or by a supervisor. In the case that a gutter pan or a driveway is milled, they must be sawcut prior to milling, there is a special pay item for this. If the street requires SAMI to be placed, the surface should be milled an extra quarter of an inch. After milling, the surface should be evaluated for scabbing or other bad conditions. In the event of bad conditions, call supervisor and they will make a decision on if pre-leveling is needed.
