Registration for the Engineering, Science and Technology (STEM) Librarians Community of Practice Workshop is now open (here).

Date: 12 Dec 2019, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

Venue: Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Gardens Point (City) Campus Science and Engineering Centre -- P Block -- Level 5 -- Collaborative Learning Space GP-P506A, 2 George Street, Brisbane

This one-day workshop will consist of short presentations on hot topics in STEM Librarianship, plus ample time for semi-structured, roundtable discussion.This is a free event however please join us for a congenial lunch (at own expense) at City Botanic Gardens Café

  • Dr Paul Harpur discusses how widespread eBook availability is reshaping library collections and transforming access to information for the print disabled. 
  • Pam Schindler talks about what makes an eBook accessible and offers practical advice on how to implement inclusive purchasing in your organisation. Pam discusses what UQ learnt from undertaking the Jisc accessibility snapshot earlier this year. 
  • Tom Joyce provides a timely update on changes to copyright and the implications of the Marrakesh Treaty for libraries
