Library Technologies Community of Practice
Purpose
The purpose of the Library Technologies Community of Practice is to:
Monitor the environment to identify emerging issues and trends in information and communication technology relevant to QULOC libraries.
Provide a forum for the exchange of information on best practice, resources and strategies relating to information and communication technology.
Share programs, models, methodologies and provide professional development opportunities relating to information and communication technology in QULOC libraries.
Communicate and collaborate with other QULOC Communities of Practice and Practitioner Groups on matters of shared interest.
Advise and make recommendations to the University Librarians on information and communication technology issues relevant to QULOC.
Membership
This Community of Practice is open to all staff from QULOC libraries. If you would like to get involved, please contact the convenor, speak to your existing local member - listed below - or contact: quloc.exec.officer@gmail.com
Meeting Schedule
The Library technologies Community of Practice meets 3 times per year (usually, March, June and September).
Reporting Schedule
Community of Practice members contribute to an Institutional report prior to each meeting, to facilitate the meeting discussion.
After each meeting, a brief record of the meeting discussion, potential strategic priorities or events and other items of interest will be provided using the Community of Practice Meeting Reporting Padlet The padlet will be available to all QULOC members to read. An annual report is provided to the last University Librarians Committee meeting of the year.
