Welcome to the Queensland University Libraries Office of Cooperation

Queensland University Libraries Office of Cooperation (QULOC) is a collaborative organisation of university libraries in and around Queensland, Australia.

At the centre of QULOC is the University Librarians' Committee, setting priorities for the organisation and initiating programs.

In May 2021, QULOC became a Group of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).  Information about ALIA's events and activities can be found on the  ALIA website.

QULOC Member Libraries are also part of the Council of Australian University Librarians networks - Information about CAUL's events and activities can be found on the CAUL website. See a map of the Queensland campuses of QULOC member institutions.

QULOC Groups

QULOC's activities are guided by a terms of reference and a strategic plan.   These directions are implemented by a series of QULOC Groups, consisting of members from each institution.

There are two types of QULOC Groups

·         Communities of Practice - which are open to all interested staff from QULOC libraries.

·         Practioner Groups (or other initiatives) - which have a selective membership, with nominated representatives from each institution.

Communities of Practice and Practitioner Group convenors and their terms of reference are decided by the University Librarians' Committee. QULOC Groups meet regularly to discuss topics of interest, collaborate on initiatives, and organise activities to support the professional development of library staff.
