The present article introduces the main qualitative and quantitative results obtained in a pilot study of e-portfolio implementation in two different subjects offered in the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC). In particular, such teaching innovation took place within the Technical Industrial and Aeronautics Engineering School (ETSEIAT) curricula. And our results seem to indicate that the e-Portfolio can be viewed as: 1) a complementary tool for student’s assessment and 2) a perfect follow-up device to check student’s competences development (both generic and specific) throughout their degree studies. The useful data gathered allow us to generalize our findings and therefore, consider its implementation in the second cycle of Industrial Organization (IO) Engineering as well as the rest of degrees taught at the UPC.
