Abstract
This article presents the general lines of the Internationalization Model designed at ETSEIAT (Terrassa School of Industrial and Aeronautical Engineering) as a key strategic and management axis of the School. The final aim of this Model is to foster the mobility levels of students and teachers, particularly at the incoming modality as far as in the last four years the outgoing teachers’ mobility has doubled and the students’ mobility is four times even higher. Our University has detected the need to offer a higher number of “English friendly” subjects to achieve a higher incoming students’ mobility. This scenario forces the University to design an increasing level of knowledge exigency in the subjects taught at the same course periods. Additionally, a trade-off amongst subjects in close years has to be balanced with similar exigency levels. During 2011 two pilot plans have started. One is related to PDI (Personal Docente e Investigador – Teaching and Research Staff) skill language training and the second one is related to the vertical and horizontal coordination of 15 subjects of different degrees given at the ETSEIAT. This article describes how the Model axis has been developed, as well as some the preliminary achieved results.
