Introduction of Town Panchayat, Poolambadi
Poolambadi is in Perambalur District and in Veppanthattai Taluk. It has been situated near Arumbavur having a westward deviation for about 13 Kms from the Village Called Krishnapuram on the State highways (SH.157) of Perambalur to Attur of Salem District. This town having 15 Wards. Total area of this town is 18.30 Sqkm.
Year of Constitution :-
Poolambadi was formed as the Village Panchayat on 11.07.1917 and upgraded as the Second Grade Town Panchayat.

பூலாம்பாடி பேரூராட்சி பெரம்பலூர் மாவட்டம்.
இலங்கையின் கண்டி நகரைப் போல் இயற்கை எழில் நிறைந்த பகுதிகள் அமைந்திருந்ததால் முன்பு சின்ன கண்டி என்று அடைமொழியுடன் அழைக்கப்பட்ட ஊர் பூலாம்பாடி ஆகும். புலவர்கள் பாடல் இயற்றி பரிசுகள் பெற்று வந்த காரணத்தால் புலவர்கள் பாடும் ஊர் பூலாம்பாடி என்று மருவியது. பூ மகிழும் பாடி என்பதை பூலாம்பாடி எனவும் திரிந்ததாக கூறுவர்.
