After graduation in 1975, I moved to the DC area where I lived for 20 years. I was a Property Manager for a local developer. In 1991, I married Jack Gillen, a man with a great sense of humor, enduring patience and 2 sons who made me a grandmother. In 1995, I moved to Florida and launched a variety of social-service based careers in nursing homes and as a caseworker. Each job ended with “Why am I doing this?” but all brought me to my current position as Director of Human Resources for Ascent Healthcare. For the past 8 years, I’ve been a counselor, coach, resource and professional advocate for a staff of 600+. For more than 12 years, I’ve been an active volunteer/fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and I’m most proud of developing/maintaining various Community Outreach programs. I laugh a lot at home and at work (mostly at myself) and I’m grateful daily for where I am, what I do and the people I love.
