After a tearful goodbye, I headed off to NYC with Dora, Dennis Luczak and Anne Brisk. I studied for a year at Polokov’s Studio and Forum of Stage Design preparing for the United Scenic Artists exam. After not getting into the union, I took a job at Times Square Stage Lighting and lit a slew of tiny productions around NYC. A few years later, Litelab, the company I was working for at the time, built the dance floor for Saturday Night Fever. They didn’t want to teach the union guys to run the computer that controlled the dance floor, so they sent me to run it during the filming. If you look fast, you can see me in the DJ booth next to Monte Rock III! I soon realized that in NYC the tech-side of theatre is just as cut-throat as the acting side. It just wasn’t my style….. I left NY several years later and moved on to a “normal” life. Now I have 2 ex-husbands and 2 grown kids. My daughter, Stephanie, graduated from Point Park (Musical theatre and stage management) in 2005. My son, David, will graduate in December from Manhattan School of Music. For the past 8 years I have been the Technology Coordinator at a small private all-girls high school in Buffalo. Sometimes I light the school plays! I love computers and live for all things Google! I had a blast helping to plan this get together! I look back and can honestly say that the best 4 years of my life were spent at the Playhouse! Thank you all for sharing that part of your lives with me.
