Description: To collect data regarding the institutional and classroom contexts, the characteristics of the pupils as a group and its diversity, using this information to plan and deliver instruction.
Reflection: This work allowed me to learn more about the school. After my previous experiences, I can realize that the socio-cultural environment is an important factor when it comes to teaching each student. Being able to know the environment in which the students spend most of their days, helps me understand them and find the best way or strategy to plan my future classes and then be able to apply them.
Description: To set learning goals that are meaningful for the pupils and coherent with the national or school curriculum framework. To design each class session, identifying resources and learning activities that are appropriate for these pupils’ attainment of the learning goals. And to design an assessment plan to monitor pupil learning before, during, and after instruction, including multiple modes and approaches which are aligned with the learning goals and activities, and considers adaptations for pupils with special needs.
Reflection: Being in a bilingual school, which has its own learning program, in addition to having a wide variety of resources for it, made me have to think outside the box, in order to create activities that had a significant impact on learning of my students. With this experience, and seeing my mentor teach the class, I was able to understand how different it is to teach children with a high level of English as well as a slightly lower level and how to handle that situation.
Description: To make adjustments to the lesson plans based on assessment data and pupils’ engagement, communicating the analysis and conclusions regarding the impact of instruction.
Reflection: Even though I was not able to do my classes as planned, I was able to learn about the different strategies used by my mentor, to teach in a conscious, logical and meaningful way. On the other hand, as I wrote at work, I feel and know that I must learn more about special educational education. How to teach, what strategies are effective and what is not. I have always been interested in learning different strategies to teach and considering that each student is a world, I will continue looking for ways to teach each one of them.
Description: To identify the main things learned in this practicum and ways in which this learning has informed their professional development needs, reflecting on the meaning, values, and purposes that will orient his or her professional life.
Reflection: On this MDD I reflected on what I learned from this experience and that I will be able to use in future instances as well as when I become a teacher. Having amazing examples of teachers makes me want to work and learn twice as much as before because now I know that as teachers we can make a change, we can leave a mark on each student's life and sometimes to help them not only on learning certain contents and subjects but also grow as a whole, complete and good people.
