Regarding the article “Could this be the most efficient Solar Panel ever?,” written by Emily Matchar on Smithsonian Webpage specifically on March, 15th 2017, the history of electricity may have a big, important and extremely fundamental change. A prototype of solar panels called “Hot Solar Cells”, which is still in progress, is giving a higher standard in contrast with the products that people have been using nowadays. The six inventors of this project were feeling optimistic, because the technology created was part of “10 Breakthrough Technology of 2017,” article on MIT publication, as an invention that could be history from now on. Although the Hot Solar Cells are not finished yet, has the double effectivity than the industry standard.
My first opinion about this discovery, is the revolution which can help the world to improve the care about natural resources. The possibility of having clean energy again, besides taking care the world for new generations, is amazing. A better use of the sunlight spectrum, an extended limit of the electricity soon, and all the advantages that the prototype of the new solar panel may give, will increase the probability of living in a brand new world, and also the cleanest one. The twice energy production, the “absorber- emitter” process and the part where the light particles are recycled, will affect all the limitations that solar panels has had until now, improving them and their capacity of converting more than “the third of sunlight energy into electricity,” as the writer explained.
My other point of view disagrees with some parts of the invention, as the cost, the development of the device over time and the adequate temperatures at which the invention works. The prototype that was invented needs expensive materials to create it. Maybe it was necessary at that moment, but in the article, the researchers explained that the size needed to make it commercial, cannot be generated because of the cost of the materials, hence they explained that the “efficient materials are still extremely expensive.” About the development of the device over time, on the article, is talk that in 50 years approximately, this solar panel could be history. Nonetheless, in 50 years, the world may be so damaged that the device will not work. In 50 years, the natural resources will not be as functional as now, because if we keep living in this way, without recycling and wasting a lot of water and electricity more than we should, the new solar panels will not be able to help us and make the difference.
To conclude with my reaction paper and letting you know my two very different arguments, I make the statement that a new kind of solar panel will have more advantages than disadvantages and making a balance, it would be a big help for us; those who want to save the world.

In this reaction paper, I have learned how to express my own ideas and explain my arguments. Also, I can say that I learned new vocabulary and new expressions (as connectors and phrases) that I will need to use frecuently to show a better level of proficiency. This task has been very interesting, because I have had the opportunity of improving my writing skills, and learn about the new technology that is developing in a not so far future.
