A lovely biography about a lovely person
The most important person in my life is called Jeannette Terán. The lady, who was born on July 27th of 1963, has been an exceptional daughter, an amazing wife and an extremely adorable, understanding and perfect mother to me.
A relevant fact about her is the courage and the braveness she has had to deal with the problems and obstacles in her life. The death of her father, the loss of her son and all the diseases she has had to struggle with. On May 24th of 2010, she was diagnosed with skin cancer, which gave rise to other problems such as thrombosis and pulmonary edemas. However, that was not a reason for giving it up. The following weeks, months and years, she had a complete medical treatment which five years later was successful. The doctors said to us that we will always need to protect her, make her feel comfortable and loved -- things that we didn’t need to assume, because we have always loved her and have always taking care of her, we need and want her forever with us, kissing and hugging us, because there is not better thing in the world than feel her arm around you, making you feel in peace.
She used to dance when she was a child. Also, she would sing when she was in the choir at the school. If you ask her, she could tell step by step the Dirty Dancing movie, because watch it was her biggest hobby ever. I remember, when my sister and I were little little girls, my mother teach us all the choreography and the three of us made a show for my father. Here is when I ask the reader not to laugh at us, but as a tradition or a family secret or something similar, until today (and I hope that tomorrow and then and in the future too), we still do the shows, dancing, singing, and playing as we were children again, as we have never grow up.
I think that one of the best reasons that I had to become a dancer was the example of my mother. To watch her dancing everyday and can seeing the happiness and all the joy that she had when she danced, it is something that completes me. To share the love for dancing, and always have her and my dad’s support to do anything that makes me happy (as being a student and dancer at the same time) is my mainstay.
I travel to my parent’s house every weekend; I try to get there early because they both work all day, so I can prepare dinner and wait for them with something sugary as a lemon pie or a cake because I know they love it. I can say for sure that getting to their house is the best moment in my whole week.
Today, I have a 54-year-old mother, who is the light of my life, my role model and an amazing person with and for everyone. She is a woman who enjoys the world of arts and now she has a Dance Academy in Arauco which is a family job, because one of her daughters works as a teacher and the other one (me) as a dancer there. Her husband helps her with the artefacts that she needs, and even her mother is able to paint the costumes for the dances.
Mom, if you read this now or someday, I just want to tell you that I will be blessed if I become as good person as you are and I will always feel proud of being your baby daughter and have the honor to be called your friend. You are essential in my life, you are who guides my way, my home will always be wherever you are. Thank you, for teaching me everything, for understanding me, for loving me… Thank you, for being unique in my life, for being the greatest thing in my world. You are my favorite person in the whole world, please always stay by my side, please always call me your “Kitty”.
I love you, mom
This kind of writing was a beautiful experience to me. To write about someone I can choose, to write about the person that I admire, makes me have better connection between paragraph, more fluency. I tried to write this biography with a good level of proficiency, learning about more adverbs and adjectives to use in my daily vocabulary. I hope after this work, my writing skills will improve a lot.
