You are going to need some software to analyze the binary

Hex Editor

There are plenty of good Hex Editors out there

• HxD is easy to use quickly http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/

• HexEdit takes more to get used to but has an excellent feature set (currently using this one) http://www.mitec.cz/hex.html

Disassembler

• Ida Pro is pretty much the standard and it disassembles the Siemens 80C166 chip. Some where in time it became the Infineon 801C66 chipset. Kiel also provides the ADIS16X disassembler (zip)

• Emulator Trace32 Simulator for C166 (zip)
