Ignition Retard

This bit of custom code offers two additional choices for modification of ignition timing. It only applies if RPM > 2000 (not-adjustable).

#1. Ignition Retard Rev Limiter

Programmable RPM limit, above which the ignition timing can be modified by a 0 to -100% retard.

#2. Switched Ignition Retard

Toggle switch induced ignition retard, however if both are set, if RPM limit is exceeded, #1 will apply.

* ECU pins listed must be fed 5V to activate.

Additional Note

Because the ignition timing displayed in both the Editor and Logger is actually offset from the hexadecimal value the ECU uses to do its internal math, the following is true:

ignition retard of -15%

when ignition timing map is calling for 45*BTDC,

means the value used will be 35*BTDC because:

-15% * (45+24) = -10deg

During this testing the Ignition Cut RPM Limiter was set to 3000RPM with various -retard% and TPS input, mostly in neutral. Some low speed, low throttle testing in gear in file '-100%'.
