Ravens 0-0 Studley
M.o.M Ish
A rusty performance today followed a similar training session last Wednesday as our players seem to have caught a bug that prevents them from playing the simple pass. We move into the most definitive 6 months of our short history as this is the main age where some players push on, some players fall away and some even just lose the desire to play football.
I stressed the importance of this to the players on Wednesday as when players are consistently playing below their own 100% level then the team will suffer against good opposition, as we have found in the last 5 or 6 games. The clock is ticking now and the players really need to step up to the standard that we are playing in or to drop down to a level better suited to them. Some players want to really push on and strive to play as high as possible and others just enjoy the Sunday afternoon banter with the boys. There is nothing wrong with this but the league we are in is probably a division or two above that mentality.
We did not play well with the ball and we looked a little clueless in attack. The passing was generally to the opposition. The positive was being defensively solid and keeping a clean sheet in the process.
The best chance fell to Kori in the 1st half but his shot was weak and then Brad fired wide at the death when he may have used his weaker foot.
A tough game next week against Wychall and our standard will need to improve if we are to have a chance.
Man of the match went to Ish for a hard working display in midfield.
