CCC 0 v 2 Ravens
Scorers:- Bri, Fred
M.o.M:- Josh W
Another day where we all had to brave the conditions. A muddy pitch with rain around and it would be even tougher than last week against a team that has a very good defensive record. They were going to be tough to break down.
After some pretty poor attitudes at training there was a better feel to the warm up with the lads looking very up for this one. Fred in particular looked raring to go.
We started the game really well, against the wind. We quickly took control of the midfield and we were looking like creating chance on the small pitch. They did threaten too with an early long range shot, palmed wide by Alfie. Josh White was stamping his authority on the ball early on with some strong defending.
We started to look like getting the breakthrough as their keeper was being called into action. Bri and Fred were lining up well and the ball just wouldn’t fall right for them. We had a few narrowly missed before Brian got us the breakthrough with a well struck free kick. 1 became 2 when Josh W won the keepers big kick. Bri fed it through to Fred who scored with ease.
The 2nd half was much the same as we kept testing their keeper. Phil grazed the post with a good shot. Elliot and Brad kept everything neat and tidy while Jake picked up where Joshy D had left off.
A late penalty saw Josh W have the tough task of scoring in the mud bath goalmouth. His well struck shot was well saved by their keeper.
2-0 and 3 important points on a tough day. The players all did really well once again to cope with the conditions and come away with a well deserved win.
