January Sub-Interns
My name is Dan Barbakoff, and I am a sub-intern from Weill Cornell. I am interested in learning as much as possible within the field of emergency medicine as well as medical education and clinical/translational research. Outside of medicine, I enjoy running, hiking, and cooking. I am excited to be part of the team and to work with the faculty and staff of the ED this month.
My name is Ana, and I'm a sub-intern from Weill Cornell Medical School. I'm currently applying to ophthalmology residency and have a strong interest in health equity and working with underserved communities. During this EM rotation, I'm excited to build my clinical skills, particularly in triage and point-of-care ultrasound. Outside of medicine, I love theatre, cake decorating, and group workout classes. I value mentorship and feedback, and am excited to work with you all!
My name is Emily and I am a Sub-Intern from Weill Cornell. Professionally I am interested in medical education, both at the student level and resident level. On my own time, I enjoy running, travel, and trying out all the amazing restaurants in New York. Looking forward to meeting everyone this month!
My name is Gianni Thomas and I am a Sub-Intern from Weill Cornell. I have recently returned for my last year of med school following a 2-year leave where I received my MBA from Harvard Business School. My professional interests include medical innovation, translational research, and the commercialization of academic technologies to drive real-world patient impact. I will not be pursuing a residency upon graduation and have instead founded my own company in the healthcare space. Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing pickleball and padel, traveling, and eating at new restaurants.
My name is Joshua Winograd, I am a fourth-year student at WCM. My primary career interest is in urology, with academic interests in the application of technology innovation to improve clinical care. Outside of medicine, I enjoy trying different restaurants, board games, and building and tinkering with technical projects. I’m excited to learn from the residents and faculty during my time on the service!
My name is Helen, and I am a Sub-Intern from Cornell. In my free time, I like running, hiking, and watching Formula 1.
