My name is Sarah Ampalloor and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from New York Medical College. My professional interests include furthering medical education and learning more about Ultrasound in EM. Outside of medicine, I love rock climbing, traveling, and baking interesting cakes. I'm excited to learn from and work with everyone at this program!
Hi! My name is Natasha and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. I am super excited about the field of emergency medicine, especially Social EM and Medical Education. I enjoy teaching and always want to find ways to make learning for patients and students more accessible. Outside of medicine I enjoy playing basketball, traveling, and catching up with family and friends!
Hi! My name is Kelsey and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. I studied pharmacy at Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and have my PharmD. Some of my interests within EM are global emergency medicine, toxicology, and pediatrics. In my free time, I love to run, ski, read, and play with my dachshund. I am looking forward to meeting everyone, and excited for the month ahead!
My name is Geena Choo and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Within Emergency Medicine I am interested in ultrasound and critical care, while my overall professional interests are in medical education and the medical humanities. I love rock climbing, reading, writing, and running marathons. I hope to run NYC for the second time in 2026 and am excited to return to the city for my Sub-I!
My name is Brayden Haberman, and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from Creighton University SOM – Phoenix. My professional interests include EMS and Disaster Medicine, and I hope to teach and mentor future residents one day. Outside the hospital, I enjoy working out with friends, hot yoga, watching documentaries and docuseries, and going to drag shows. Having grown up on a farm in rural Nebraska, I'm looking forward to exploring the city and getting to know the NYP family!
My name is Ariel Kesick and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from Tulane Medical School. I am currently in the MD/MPH dual-degree program. I am from Washington, D.C. and attended the University of Virginia for my Bachelors and Master of Public Policy degrees. Prior to medical school, I spent four years as a strategy health consultant at Deloitte supporting federal, non-profit and commercial healthcare clients and was a governor's fellow for the Secretary of Health and Human Services. I am passionate about health care policy, advocacy and global health and am very interested in hospital administration, social EM, and critical care. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, cooking, and am a huge foodie! I also have a 3 year old french bulldog named Dory!
My name is Steven LaFever and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from SUNY Upstate Medical University. I am interested in all aspects of emergency medicine and am currently particularly interested in EMS and Critical Care. I also am very interested in social EM, especially patients experiencing homelessness. Outside of the hospital, I enjoy exercising and you can usually find me training for a road race or triathlon. I also love exploring NYC with my girlfriend.
My name is Tammy Ly and I am a Sub-intern visiting from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX! I am interested in exploring all facets of emergency medicine, including EMS, disaster medicine, and ultrasound. I am also passionate about working with underserved communities and exploring ways to address healthcare disparities. Outside of medicine, I enjoy photography, traveling (just came back from Japan!), and exploring new restaurants. As a Texas native, I am super excited to experience life and work in the big city, and I look forward to getting to know the NYP-EM team!
My name is Mirwat and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from Frank H. Netter SOM. I’m eager to gain hands-on experience in ultrasound, IV placement, and assisting with procedures during my rotation. Outside of medicine, I’ve recently developed an interest in carpentry and am currently working on restoring an older shelf at home.
My name is Kristen Murray, and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. I am interested in medical education and have been very involved with my school's peer tutoring program, and I also have a research interest in disaster medicine and emergency medicine systems and have been working on an EMS-delivered pre-hospital blood pilot program in Los Angeles. In my free time, I'm an avid long-distance runner, a pasta chef, and a huge fan of hiking in National Parks (I've been to over half of them!).
My name is Susan Parraga and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. I’m deeply interested in social medicine and providing care for vulnerable communities including immigrants and non-English speakers. I also have a special interest in ultrasound! I’ve worked in clinical and translational research prior to med school, and it is something I’m interested in continuing to pursue throughout my career. I was born and raised in Queens, NYC, and I still love exploring new coffee shops, museums, and parks across the boroughs. I have a running list of coffeeshops categorized for different purposes - studying, hanging out with friends, small events, and even decor!
My name is Katie Persin, and I am a Sub-Intern visiting from PCOM in Philly. I am interested in emergency medicine with particular academic interests in ultrasound and sports medicine, as well as in serving diverse and underserved communities. Outside of medicine, I enjoy staying active through running and sports, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. I also have a Great Pyrenees mix named Moose, who, despite being a “mountain dog”, is happiest diving into the waves down the Jersey Shore.
