Tree Arch pointing to a series of mounds
Burial moundsI took these pictures of mounds with an arch pointed at them on the Omaha Res July 2015. Mounds Janice Carter told me these are actually hunting burrows used to ambush deer!

I had contacted a company that conducts Ground penetrating radar for cemeteries. They locate the cemetery plots that have become unmarked. It would be possible for them to scan the mounds but the cost was too expensive for me to complete 1600.00 dollars. I then considered drilling small holes through the side of the mounds from the burrow with an auger. Another concern then arose regarding the response of the Sasquatch in the area. I believe they would be defensive disturbing a relative and decided to hold off on pursuing that option until a more detailed approach can be planned. There are laws that require reporting remains and I believe that on the reservation science would have the best shot at examining robust skeletal artifacts. Squirrels, Mounds and Sasquatch Structures

Burial mounds have been an ancient rite practiced by various ancient cultures. In 2015 on the Omaha Rez I encountered a series (Three) mounds surrounding a tree branch covered burrow. What really intrigued me was the large tree arch pointing at the mound “a calling card of the Nox Gigas”. I believed there must be a connection to these mounds and Bigfoot…The probable Burial mound of Bigfoot?
Later that year in October I was in Missoula Montana for the Big Sky Bigfoot conference and did some research hiking in the Lolo National forest around Missoula. I encountered tree structures near mounds there also. See linked pictures. It was curious to me why the Sasquatch is building these structures here near mounds too. I ruled out that the mounds were created by road graders clearing the fire roads that led up the mountain. These mounds were well off the road and out by themselves. I took pictures to document these phenomena with mounds and Sasquatch structures. link Mounds in Montana
Recently I was contacted by Harriet McFeely and Robin Roberts with the Sasquatch Investigations of the Rockies (S.I.R). Harriet had pictures of mounds with some drift wood structures and arches near them and she wanted my opinion. The drift wood pieces appeared to be placed on the mounds and were brought from somewhere else commented Harriet. She pointed out to me that there were many Sasquatch structures in this area of Colorado and that ongoing Bigfoot activity is occurring here. Harriet wanted to know if I believed they were burial mounds. Robin had asserted to Harriet that they were the work of Red Squirrels eating pine cone nuts and leaving large piles of pine cone shells. The structures and drift wood placement of them were fascinating to me and I associate that with Bigfoot. link Colorado The mounds though seem to have several possible origins that include the Red Squirrels. Link to Red Squirrel Study American Red Squirrel
The revelation of these mounds brought me back to my original find in Nebraska and what had led me to some of these assumptions. I had conducted some online cross referencing of research and came across the Nebraska Loess man found in the Loess hill’s north of Omaha in the late 1800’s. Ales Hrdlicka of the Smithsonian had examined the bones found and published his findings in 1907 “Skeletal remains suggesting or attributed to early man in North America”. These Skeletal remains were described as robust and Neanderthal type bone structure. They were found in a mound that had some skulls as deep as eight feet. It was suggested that the mounds became home to rodents and the bones had been moved by them. The mounds that were found on the Omaha Rez are in the same stratification of the Loess Hills and I believe that they may have a connection to burial mounds too. Link Smithsonian Study
When I had displayed pictures of the Nebraska Mounds with the large Arch at the Big Sky Bigfoot conference I had received some feedback via an email from a man named Bruce who had attended the conference. He said that in Idaho it is common to see mounds like this from Mineral Exploration Test pits, to establish mineral rights. I had not considered that when finding the mounds and didn’t think a back hoe could have made the trip up to the ridgeline were the hole was dug. Unless the hole/pit was much older maybe ten years and had a lot of growth around it now, Saplings etc.. Hmm but that still doesn’t explain the large arch pointing at it and the attempt to cover it with tree branches. It seems that the Bigfoot has an interest in these mounds and whether they are created by them or someone else it does not matter.
The Red Squirrel and pine cone mounds take on a curious twist too. I believe the Squirrels are responsible for some of these mounds but are they attracted to the mounds like the Nebraska Loess man mounds and dig burrows in existing burial mound. Does the Sasquatch just build structures near mounds to mark their presence? There does not seem to be a definitive answer to mounds and Sasquatch but it is certain that Red Squirrels are ravenous pine cone nut connoisseurs. Burial mounds remain a mystery…

Big Elk Campground (Base camp)
July 9th I arrived at base camp at 4PM and was assigned a cabin and bunk with Barry and Tom a photo journalist from Minnesota who I had met in Iowa earlier that spring. Jim and Chris of (SRA) the Sasquatch Research Association joined us and Derek, Elvie and Tina comprising the expedition members. Barry handed out Rez Squatching Research T-shirts and I proudly wore mine! Jim and Chris brought drones to fly over the area. They demonstrated how they can be used to Squatch. Paul arrived later to join Barry’s group.
6 PM CDT we had Chili and Indian bread that Barry’s wife had made. We discussed breaking into teams and planned the night ops accordingly Derek, Tina and I were one team and we were going west of town to investigate a home that had frequent visitors.
10 PM we left for night ops and stopped at the crossing of the road as you come into big elk park. This was located between the two forests on either side of the road. It was very dark and quiet as D did some howls. We did a wood knock too but nothing but the flashes of lightening bugs. After twenty minutes we left to go to Tina’s parents so she could pick up some things. The homes around Macy are scattered out in the timbered periphery of the woods. It would be very easy for Sas to sneak around at night undetected to these homes. We then set out west of town to a house near blackbird creek surrounded by fields and some groves of trees. Nearest the house on the west side about 20 yards was a grove of trees that went up to the alfalfa field. We heard movement coming from that area as soon as we came around the corner of the house. It was dark but something was moving around inside the tree line. The residents of the house had contacted Barry and D about the activity and were concerned that the Sas were regularly looking in the windows at the woman and her children. They were also trying to open the door jingling the door handle and hitting the side of the house. We stood quietly looking at the grove of trees and could hear movement periodically as if something was moving back and forth inside the tree line just out of our eyesight. We then decided to sit out in the field behind the house and try and get a reaction. There was another grove of trees about 400 yards to the west and D said that they have had howls come from that area. D did some whoops and a wood knock. We started to see some eye glow coming from the edge of the field as it met the grove of trees by the house. Tina, D and I watched as small consistently glowing eyes peeked out behind a tree. (High about four ft- then low about two ft). They were different from the lightening bugs that could be seen flashing on and off all around us. We tried to get a reaction from the distant grove of trees but nothing. All the activity was in the grove closets to the house. D thought about going into the grove and flush out whatever was in there. We believed they were a few Juveniles now that we saw the two sets of eye glow. We decided to go back by the house and not push our luck going directly in after them. We would need more people or otherwise they would just slip away on the other side as we moved in. When we moved through the yard back to the house we could hear them trailing us in the timber. D did another whoop and I stood closet to the trees and decided to blow my dog whistle. As soon as I did that something moved quickly to the edge of the tree line. I waited to see if it would come through but it just waited in the darkness just out of sight. We were surprised to get that sort of a reaction from the dog whistle, I had not used it before but had it attached to my camera bag. I knew they could hear below the human threshold but I now suspect they communicate below this threshold too judging from the reaction I had gotten. We stood around for about fifteen more minutes and D said let’s try another location. He really wanted to get a howl for me.
We drove up the road and into a alfalfa field up to a hill that overlooked the area. Below us about 500 yards was a grove of trees and near there was Tina’s grandpa’s place. D said we have had a lot of activity near his home and Blackbird creek followed the tree line into his property. D did a howl and shortly after we heard a hissing puffing noise out in the field. D put a light on it and about 75 yards away was a deer walking in the alfalfa. D did a wood knock and again the deer reacted but nothing else. D was confused he had no responses when he usually gets a loud howl. He then realized it was only around 12:30 AM and the action is usually around 2AM to 4AM. We waited around a while longer and headed back through town to big elk camp.
July 10th 1 AM- we arrived back at base camp and talked to Jim and Chris from SRA. They mention too about staying out later but we were all getting tired. We talked as the other team returned for another hour and decided to call it a night about three AM in our cabins. Tom and Elvie had seen some eye glow convincing Tom they are real he had tried to record it with his camera but was driving and Chris didn’t get it in the frame as they had seen it. This is the struggle you have with the experiences at night. They are always more difficult to document in real time.
7AM I got up and went out to void behind the cabin. I had my trail cam set up there facing the back of the building were a Sas had slapped the side the night before when it was just Barry, Elvie and Tom there. I didn’t capture anything when I checked the cam later, other than myself voiding a few times over a few days. We ate grilled corn at 11 AM that D had roasted.
12PM Jim and Chris did a drone demonstration and filmed the buffalo near camp along the Missouri river. This land is old growth forest and has been untouched through time. Because of the timbered bluffs along the river the land was not much use for farming but it remained an excellent habitat for all the forest animals. There are deer everywhere and presumably mountain lion too as the big game tend to find the food sources. Plenty of water and caves in the bluffs are the perfect conditions for Sasquatch. (Hin’ Shkube nu - the “Hairy man”) of the Omaha language. These are the ancient lands of the giants and this is their home. Make no mistake we are on their land! I did my presentation on audio recording and Stick/tree structures. I have found X and arch structures in New Mexico mountain ranges and the Colorado Rockies that differ only from the ones found along the Mississippi in Iowa and the Missouri rivers in Nebraska by the trees they built them with. The Mountains have higher altitude Ponderosa Pines and the rivers have deciduous trees. The Native Americans have used sticks to indicate trails in the past and I suspect the Sas are still using this knowledge. I have photographed these structures in ten thousand ft elevation mountain forests and twelve hundred ft elevation river forests. This leaves me to no other conclusion that they are communicating!
2PM we traveled as a group to view some stick structures in the timber. I believe it is more educational to show someone what they look like than to just explain them with pictures. To me these structures are the first indicators of Sasquatch that you can get familiar with, and then build on finding tracks and placing recording equipment. The tree and stick structures are the forest signs of the Sasquatch. You must first familiarize yourself with natural factors that will occur in the woods such as snow load and wind damage. This can be accomplished by seeing a pattern of trees blown over or trees bent by weight without supporting structures. Once you are able to see natural signs in the woods you can begin to see the unnatural or positioned structures that are the work of the Sasquatch. Arches are made by pulling over a sapling into an arch and then holding it down with another dead branch or a log or rock. This sort of structure is created by a Sasquatch and in most cases would not be possible for humans to accomplish it. The height and strength needed to pull a sapling into an arch is a true testament to their size. A small 20 ft sapling would need to be pulled at least at the 14 to 16 ft mark to not break the tree from too much torque. That means a large male with arm length at least half the size of their height would need to be Nine to Ten ft tall with an additional reach of five feet to accomplish the task. Even if their arms are proportionally longer than humans then it would still need to be about Eight ft tall to achieve this type of success. That corroborates eye witness accounts of the morphology and size of these giants.
We viewed several structures of arches held down and a unique Tipi structure that had been built that week on a trail that had just been cleared. It was approximately seven ft tall and four ft wide with woven sticks holding branches together in a Tipi shape. I noticed all the small twigs on the branches used were removed and the whole structure was secured free standing by the woven and placed supports of branches in the tipi. It was clean and well-constructed indicating knowledge of building and weaving principles. The Sas were sending a message perhaps this is my territory or indicating the numbers in the clan as there were three small sticks and eight larger ones. The conclusion of putting this right on the trail just as the trail had been completed is a message directed at the builders of the trail in so many words. This is my home don’t put a trail through it.
We left that location to meet up with the other expeditioner’s for a hike up a two track to a ridgeline over look. It was difficult accessing the area even with a truck. We stopped at a road crossing and parked the truck. I got out and started taking pictures of structures in the area with Tina. There were some arches and I could see a large tree branch had been turned upside down and balanced with supports on the ground. I hadn’t seen that before. There was something else that caught my eye as I wandered down into the timber through the tall weeds. There was a large tree that was broken off at the top and hanging about thirty feet off the ground. It had dead leaves covering it and to me resembled a blind or nest. It was 150 yards away and the group was gathering so I snapped some pics and joined the group. Later I got the impression the Sas were staying in the blind /nest to look out for anyone entering the area.
We set off up the two track to the look out. I quickly fell behind as I was taking pictures of arches and tree structures. This was clearly an active place for the Sas. I was cognizant of being separated from the group, so I tried to not let them get to far ahead but I was gradually losing sight of them. I caught up to Elvie at one point and he walked along with me as I continued to shoot pics. Then at the top of the ridgline I came upon something I had only seen on the internet and television. There was a group of mounds off the two track along the side of the ridge. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I immediately started taking pics and said to Elvie that these are ancient burial mounds! There were three at least and they were grouped around each other with saplings growing around them and weeds growing on top of them but they were clearly mounds. As I walked around taking pics Elvie went on top of them and said Richard you have got to see this! I went up top and between the mounds was a large hole about ten feet long and six feet wide. The mounds literally surrounded this hole and over the hole were placed some large branches to partially cover it. The hole itself looked to be dug by hand. There was no indication of shovels being used and there was no way a back hoe came up here. There were marks on the side resembling fingers digging it and the roots of the trees were intact as if dug right around it. I knew this had to have been recently in the last few years this was created. Ancient looking burial mounds dug by hand on the ridgeline overlooking the Missouri river valley. I could hardly contain myself in the realization that these are Sasquatch Burial mounds. Of course they are still using the ancient techniques I thought. They do bury their dead as was speculated! I then stood back to take a few more pics before catching up with the group and then the final sign was evident that this was created by a Sasquatch. There was a large tree arch that I had not even noticed being enthralled with the mounds. It was arched over sticking directly onto the largest mound! I now know without question that this is a Sasquatch burial ground. There is surely one or more bodies buried here and maybe several generations. This is what science has demanded and what people had been willing to kill for a body.
The group was at a lookout over the Missouri river valley and the afternoon was getting away from us. We took more pics and walked back down the two track. When we reached the mound area everyone gathered around and on it looking at the large hole between the mounds. I noticed that the hole seemed to have been dug by hand and the large tree branches covering it concealed it well. I think the tree branches would break up the holes appearance even from above. They are clearly thinking of concealing this spot from everyone with the lone indicator of the large tree arch positioned directly on to the mounds. I pointed out the arch and was convinced this is their burial ground. There was a lot of speculation of whether they bury their dead, which now has a definitive answer. They are using ancient techniques just as they always have. We humans have stopped using burial mounds thousands of years ago but here it is clearly they continue to do so. The large arch pointing to it sealed my opinion it is Sasquatch and the location on a ridgeline looking over the Missouri river valley is a sacred place for them. We were all amazed and hiked back to our vehicles to return to base camp. My mind exploded with the thought of solving this mystery here on the bluffs of the Missouri river in the Omaha Reservation. I knew though the Alpha male and clan would defend their dead with force.
We gathered at base camp and other members joined the group. Mitch and Paul joined us. We ate and rested up for night ops. Barry had broken us into groups and Paul, Tina, Tim, Derek and I planned to go out on night ops around 10 pm. I put my giant squid mics on my hat and went outside to wait for the groups to gather. Derek and I were talking at 10 PM when we both heard a loud tree knock come from the timber east of base camp. We both commented that it was a loud clear knock! The night was cloudy and very dark as the Sasquatch are on the move.
We drove to a location along an alfalfa field surrounded by timber. There we stood in complete darkness with lightening bugs flashing inside the timber and all around us. It was quiet and surreal with the contrast of the darkness and periodic flashes of the lightening bugs. You could barely see a few feet infront of you and I got the impression a Sas could sneak up on us at any time. Paul had brought apples and Tina some Indian bread to give as gifts. Barry led us into the timber on a small trail that went back about fifty yards to a fire still smoldering from the previous night. I wondered if the Sas had kept it going for entertainment. We quickly got a big fire swelling and the flickering light from it illuminated the trees near us and left a black back ground around us. Barry introduced us all in the Omaha language and gave a apple for Paul to take down to a gifting tree. We did some howls and wood knocks but it was quiet. Then Barry brought out some music and D played the tribal songs as Barry directed me to join him and Tina to dance around the fire. I stutter step may way catching their lead and rhythm to the drums. As we danced in a circle around the fire I felt myself entering a trance like state. The lightening bugs flashed out in the darkness and the movements seemed to make me feel like I was dancing in the stars. It was midnight 7/11/15 and time and space seemed to not exist in these woods along the Missouri river. Tina brought out some Indian bread and we all broke off pieces and took a bite of it raising in the air each time to show them we were eating it. Barry had me walk the last piece down into the darkness to the gifting tree. This is when you feel most vulnerable you open yourself up submitting to their presence each step distanced me from the group and brought me closer to the Sas. These master hunters could sweep me up at any moment without a sound. I finally reached the gifting tree and I couldn’t reach the branch I wanted to place it on so I choose a lower one on the opposite side. For all I knew the female Sas known in these woods could be just feet from me smelling who I am. I tried to remain calm and placed it carefully on a branch then walked out back toward the fire. My communion with the Sasquatch like a ancient rite felt invigorating to me. There is no better place to Squatch then the Rez!
We decided to break into smaller groups because we felt the Sas were staying back with the six of us there. Derek, Paul and I left Tina, Barry and Tim at the fire. We drove to where Barry and Tina had filmed a Sas earlier in the year. I was excited to see the video they had gotten. As we reached the point we did some wood knocks and howls but the timber and over growth was so thick we could see nothing. We then went to the crossing were the road passed through two large bluffed woods. We stood and listened it was real quiet. It didn’t look like anyone had been down this two track- toward the abandoned house in a long time. We descended into the darkness surrounded by seven to eight foot high wild hemp like we were in the land of giants. I felt small each step we took. We lit a strobe light and it flicked on and off lighting up the tall hemp plants. A large tree had blocked the two track and we couldn’t go any farther. This was a sure sign the Sas didn’t want anyone beyond this point. We could see lightening off to the west and decided it was time to return to camp. It was two AM so we drove past the group with Elvie and Mitch and radioed them we were returning. I went into the cabin and there were two toads hopping around. One about four inches in size the other about an inch. I got a broom and swept the larger one out and the small one hid from me. Someone mentioned that they had seen one earlier attracted to the bugs by the light outside. We retired for the night about 3 AM Saturday the 11th. Paul and Mitch slept in their trucks.
We all gathered at the shelter about 10 AM to eat breakfast that Paul had made. I had to get back to Lincoln because my dog Cooper had been ill and I needed to be there for my wife. Paul, Derek and I discussed trying to find a cast Paul had casted back in December near Derek’s Land. I told Barry I needed to get home and that I would miss his presentation with the video of Sasquatch. I was disappointed but Paul and Mitch had to leave too so none of us would see it. I met Paul and Derek on the two track that led to Derek’s land. We drove back as far as we could and then reached a point where a tree was blocking the road. We drove around it after I took some pics. No one had been back here since we had been there back in December. We hiked another quarter mile along an alfalfa field and reached the woods that I had photographed some arches and structures before. I knew about where the cast should have been and headed into the tall nettles. I was surprised how everything had overgrown since we had been there six months ago. The double tree arch was gone and the tipi structure was partially covered with overgrowth. Nature reclaims everything. The nettles were penetrating my summer hunting pants and the sweat made my legs feel like they were on fire. I looked around near the tree that the cast was left but could not see anything. Paul was in a different spot and I tried to tell him he was in the wrong place but he couldn’t hear me. I couldn’t bare the nettles anymore and worked my way out into the alfalfa field. I called out to Paul and Derek and Derek met up with me, Paul wanted to find the cast for his son but it was getting more difficult than we intended. We looked again but had no luck. I convinced Paul we would need to come back in the fall. As we hiked out along the field I heard two distinct wood knocks and Derek did too. We waited for Paul and then another knock could be heard. Paul shouted did you hear the wood knock and Derek and I both stated there had been two others. I thought maybe they were communicating that three of us had left the woods. I never considered that it could be associated with counting. We drove out and I got to my car and headed back to Lincoln. This was a historic expedition in many ways and my mind was retracing much of it!
The picture above is the arch pointing toward the burial mounds. This is the link that confirms to me this is a Sasquatch Burial. The large hole separates the mounds and is hidden from view. I have more pictures that document this discovery.
