We departed Wakeeney, Kansas, and went only a short 80 miles to the town of Wilson, Kansas. There Tom and Mark met an old friend, Jim Savinski, from their USAF days. It certainly was great to refresh old memories and see Jim and his wonderful family again. After an all too short visit we made a quick run to Topeka, Kansas, and met Mark's daughter Andrea and her family at the Harley dealership. Tom's brother and sister-in-law also joined us for lunch at the BBQ place in the same building as the Harley dealership.
After a couple of additional stops to visit more old friends we headed for the turn pike and made a rocket shot for Liberty, Missouri, arriving at Tom's house around 4:30 thereby ending the shortest riding day of the trip, i.e. 320 miles. The day ended with a great dinner in Kearney, Missouri. Tom’s sons and daughter-in-law joined the group.
Ed and Mark will leave early Saturday for Paris. Rain is predicted for the Kansas City area in the morning.
