Left Scranton a little after eight this morning, following a grand send-off from the local dignitaries, senior statesmen, bigwigs, and uppercrust (Elsken, Schwartz, and Barham). Please note attached proclaimation. Weather worked in our favor, as most of the day was very cloudy, but no rain. From Bella Vista, Arkansas, to Carthage, Missouri, the temps were a little cool, making us all stop and add a long sleeve shirt and/or jacket. We enjoyed a good lunch in Carthage, then our afternoon included a stop in Prairie Village, Kansas, to visit Mark's son and family. After eight hours, six stops, and 390 miles, we arrived at Tom's house in Liberty, Missouri, late afternoon, where we enjoyed a good visit with Tom's daughter and her family. Tom prepared a great steak dinner and we had some world-class cookies, care of Tom's daughter.
