Today began in Elko, Nevada. The early morning temperature was around 50 degrees and warmed during the day with a high of 88. However, mid to late afternoon the temperature dipped and by the time that we arrived in Rawlins, Wyoming, it was at 45 degrees. It's sure a lot easier for us to cipher temperatures in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius and MPH instead of KPH.
Our route took us by the Bonneville Salt Flats and even though it is just flat and white it does possess a certain beauty. I-80 across the salt flats (approximately 30 miles) has to be one the straightest roads in the world – go figure. We enjoyed a Mexican lunch at a small cafe in Coalville, Utah. The Hispanic owner's 10 year old son had a million dollar 'Alfalfa' smile, and helped his dad and mom serve the customers. We enjoyed watching dad coaching son.
Today we completed 515 miles and ended our day in Rawlins, Wyoming.
