CYBOCEPHALIDAE Jacquelin du Val, 1858

Type genus: Cybocephalus Erichson, 1844

【形態 / Diagnosis】

（成虫）体長0.8-1.5 mm．体は半球状で，球状に丸まることができる．体の表面は通常光沢があり，点刻は小さい．上翅側片は発達しない．腹部は5対の気門をもつ（第6背板に気門を欠く）．前基節窩は外側と内側に広く開く．附節式は4-4-4．

（幼虫）大あごは単純で，incisor teeth, prostheca, を欠く．and with weak, simple mola; Frontal-clypeal suture present. Labrum partly fused. Maxilary palps 2-segmented.lack pregomphi and urogomphi on abdominal tergite XI, and have hypostomal rods with divergent hypostomal ridges present posteriorly, hypopharynx without mola, and annular spiracles with two lateral air tubes.

【生態 / Bionomy】

腹吻亜目Sternorrhyncha（半翅目），特にDiaspididae とCoccidae を捕食する．

【分布 / Distribution】

旧北区，東洋区，エチオピア区，新北区，新熱帯区，オーストラリア区（極地を除く全生物地理区）．

【備考 / Notes】

化石属のPastillocenicus Kirejtshuk & Nel, 2008 を除く8属の現生種が知られている．ケシキスイ科に近縁な科で，従来ケシキスイ科の１亜科とする説（Jacquelin du Val, 1858; Murray, 1864; Horn, 1879; Crowson, 1955, 1967; Kirejtshuk, 1992, 1994, 2008; Jelinek & Audisio, 2007, Jelinek, et al. 2010）や独立した科として扱う （Böving & Craighead, 1931; Parsons, 1943; Audisio, 1993; Endrödy-Younga, 1962, 1968; 久松, 1985; Tian & Yu 1994a, 1994b; Yu & Tian 1995; Tian & Peng 1997; Tian 2006; Smith & Cave 2006a, 2007a, 2007b; Hisamatsu, 2013）など議論がなされてきた。近年の分子系統解析(Bocak et al., 2014; Cline et al., 2014) によるとヒメキノコムシ科Spindidae と姉妹群でありケシキスイ科とは独立した分類群であることが示された。本HPでも独立した科として扱う．
