My typical work day starts with me travelling from home in Woodlands to office in Alexandra/Pasir Panjang. I board the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) at the Admiralty station. There are a few train services at specific timings in the morning that cross over from the North-South line to the East-West line without having me to switch trains physically. It is always crowded at the Jurong East station during peak hours and it will be virtually impossible for me to switch trains in the morning.
Upon arriving at the Queenstown MRT station, I will catch the wheelchair-accessible bus (WAB) service 51 to Pasir Panjang, opposite Mapletree Business City. If I am lazy and if I can grab one, which can prove to be difficult, I will take a taxi. However, buses have their own lanes so taking a taxi may not be faster, though I can alight at my office's doorstep in one. My transport cost balloons with each taxi ride and it certainly takes up a significant chunk of my income.
Alighting at the bus stop requires me to cross two major roads and wheel up a short slight slope. Fortunately this route is pretty manageable for my wheelchair.
