Welcome to the CASH! MONEY! page. Here you can learn about currency, wealth, and how its' dealt with here in Neo-Florida.
CURRENCY
Here's the currency conversion we use for standard currency in Neo-Florida. Due to interdimensional trade, Neo-Florida mostly relies on the same system used throughout the Extreme Existence.
Note: There was a bit of confusion concerning the Megabuck standard and the exact totals it equals to. It is now 1000 gold, or the equivalent of 10,000 bucks USD.
Copper = 1 penny
Silver = 1 dollar (100 Coppers)
Gold = 10 dollars (10 Silvers, 1000 Coppers)
Platinum = 100 dollars (10 Golds, 100 Silvers, 10000 Coppers)
Electrum = Megabuck (1000 Golds) ($10000) (100 Platinum, 10000 Silvers, 100000 Coppers)
WEALTH
Wealth comes and goes in this game, with alarming speed! Let's review really quick how it does so:
Training
In case you haven't noticed, there are plenty of NPC's (and ESPECIALLY bosses and mini-bosses!) that are stronger than you. Spread out throughout the game are NPC's who, with the proper amount of kindly disposition, will be happy to teach you a thing or two, allow access to training facilities…and can even help grant you bonuses on said training, simply because of how they feel about you!
Training is important to this game, but it comes at a cost…most of the time.
Insurance
Insurance is incredibly important in this game, but certainly not the insurance YOU think! No, these are the most important "Acts of…" insurance in the game:
-Divine
-Tordek
-Imperial
-Merchant
These four cover a broad variety of acts and items/housing, and aren't really that expensive all things considered…since SO MANY in Neo-Florida happen to have these insurances. Still, having them might save you, the player AND the character, a whole ton of sweat over your beloved in-game stuff!
As it stands, Life Insurance is some of the most expensive, but most lucrative, of all insurance platforms.
Equipment
Useful equipment, both in-combat and out of, are incredibly easy to come by…but as the further up in levels you go, the stronger stuff you'll need. You'll also find yourself doling out megabuck after megabuck for items that do more and more, ESPECIALLY once you reach the Magitek level of things. Items and gear, all equipment, come in these tasty flavors:
-Normal
-Magitek
-Magic
-Technological
-Silver-Chaochrome
Furnishings
Acquiring houses is one thing, but you're also going to need furnishing and electronics of some-sort, all of them properly moved, stored, and placed within your home. Most places are incredibly happy to supply this service for free, but after it's been placed it's up to you to see to it's rearrangement.
Most places are more than willing to also speed up the process by simply "showing you" the items, then having them loaded up and sent out. Instead of having to pay by the item, they'll quote you a single price for the whole shebang, all of it depending on quality of goods.
Transportation
There are, literally, TONS of ways of gettin' about the entirety of Neo-Florida! Let's see…
-Footpads
-Swamp Runners
-Pack animals and automatic travel carts
-Underground train service
-Swamp Boats
-Gondolas
-Rickshaw
-Motorcycle (transforms into a one-person coffin, has a 30% chance of repelling Magewinds affects)
-Cars (has a 50% chance of repelling Magewinds effects)
-Hellblades (ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL: IF CAUGHT, YOU WILL BE PERSECUTED WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE!)
-Simply walking and running around. Speed, Run, Z-Running, and Wall-Running can help with this.
-Chang's Emporium, or some other vehicle sales place!
-check the location list for more places to buy vehicles from.
Clothes and Food
Everyday events such as eating and "bodily functions" can take on the role of the everyday ("I use the bathroom, I shower, I shave and eat breakfast") to the absolutely absurd and moneyed, everyday functions are necessary and MUST be seen to…or the GM will have absolutely sadistic glee in punishing your character for not seeing to 'em.
-Be sure to utilize the restroom at least once per day, or you really, REALLY won't like the GM's timing…
-Pay attention to the health of your character. If they're not eating or drinking right, the GM will begin to neg you.
-Eating can be a fine art. It's also a great way to make contacts too…if you're dressed for the occasion.
-If you're a celebrity, it doesn't matter HOW you dress, only where you go!
Entertainment is also a good way to ensure your character is well-known and respected…but it can also be a tool to find you as well. Know where to go, know who is in control of that territory, and make sure you don't step on any toes!
Clothing can be bought at any fine (or very NOT fine) places!
Unique Services
Let's not even go here…
-Massage Parlors
-Public Baths
-"REALLY" Public Baths
-Bars and Nightclubs
'Nuff said. Pro'lly more than is covered on this list.
Illegal Services
And ohhhhh how! Funny story though, most Red Light District or Black Market-based shops are considered "borderline legal"…so long as they pay tithe and fealty to the Bug Catchers Guild (even above their own codes of conduct and honor within the Market), the various police forces will be more than glad to look the other way…so long as they toe the line and never, NEVER act as a conduit to off-planet goods or mercenary.
There are places spread out throughout Neo-Florida that are wild about above-ground eateries, and will cater to any palate.
Let me stress this: they will cater to any palate.
