Talk of a Lake

Citizens of Nemaha County voiced their opinion of the state lake-park to whether the people wanted it to live or die. The lake-park project at the geographical center of the county, received new energy following a visit from Miss Helen Devault, a member of the state fish and game department. Miss Helen has urged the opportunity as one, which may never present itself again. The proposal now shapes itself into a four-way project. Nemaha count's share would be an approximate 500 acres of land; the state highway commission would be asked to contribute the portion of the cost that it must spend in any event to build and fill a bridge. The Federal government would be asked to establish a C. C. C. camp to flourish labor and the fish and game department would use funds it expects to acquire from the public works administration. The renewed hope for this project can be found at the State Fish and Game Department. The State has planned to build 20 lakes in Kansas, using federal funds and C. C. C. camps. Overall it gives hope to the people of Nemaha County to have a lake.
