Thirty-one hundred qualified voters of Nemaha county have petitioned the Board of County Commissioners to call a special election for the purpose of making a grant of public funds to be used for purchasing land at Kampler for a state lake and park. The requirement is 1750 names. Backed by the strength of the county's citizenship, Dr. J. L. Wheatley, chairman, wired to State Game Warden W. G. Strong asking for a conference with the State Fish and Game Commission. His purpose is to gain a closer understanding with the state officials before presenting the petitions to the County Commissioners.
