Shame these are the low res versions. The full resolution on the forums are pretty spectacular. Still a bit left to be gained with a few low-poly trackside objects, but the textures are simply fantastic.

Don’t be ridiculous. They use a color checker to reproduce colors. If you see them too cartoonish, you have a problem on your monitor.
The track is AMAZING, can’t wait to see how will be with the new dx11 graphic engine.

yes I’ve tested both pCARS and AC and imo both look much better than iRacing ingame better even than screenshots. There’s a reason iRacing is re-writing is graphics engine!

Well from what I have seen from all 3 games I also think AC and pCars have better overall graphics but iracing is doing few things better in my opinion which also produces mind blowing realistic looks in the game. Texturing is one thing that comes to mind. At this point iracing in my opinion is not too far off graphically at least not with their latest tracks and cars snapped in a screenshot.

They scanned it during the NASCAR weekend, so stuff like pitlane and the grandstands are set up for them rather than F1.
I’m definitely hoping for future developments where the trackside advertising can change, like the real tracks.

Are you serious? AC’s grass needs work?
Iracing’s grass is FLAT lol, so how you gonna complain about AC’s? Iracing just has a texture for its grass, at least AC has some blades.
The only reason I prefer iracings graphics is there’s so much clarity. AC is a little too blurry for my liking but it has potential.

Sorry but that’s just ridiculous. pCars are ridiculously cartoonish. The colors are saturated, and the graphics are blurry. i don’t know if it’s DoF but pCars graphics don’t look right.
AC looks good but it’s colors are a bit saturated too and a bit blurry.
Iracing on the other hand not only has realistic colors, but they’re clear and sharp. Iracing is anything but cartoonish.
You’re obviously just being a troll. I’m not one of these iracing fanboys but the graphics are the least cartoonish of any sim without a doubt.

FIRacer, please do us all a favor, get rid of the trolls. Anyone that is unable to discuss simulators and driving games without making it sounds like we are discussing politics should not be around a civil forum.
I too have my preferences, I like that game’s grass more while I prefer the handling in the other game and so forth, but I don;t call other users “stupid” or worse simply because they have a different opinion. That’s insane.
Unfortunately, my other hobby involves a lot of debates and nasty posts, but in that case it’s understandable as we discuss the very meaning of life, religion, politics and so forth. Tempers flare often, but even then I prefer a civil discourse.
This is a sim forum. There is no place for ad Hominems. There is no place for hate. It’s simply not conducive to discourse and it’s especially out of place in what should be a fun hobby with people helping each other instead of trolling.
Remember, there is no 1st amendment when it comes to private forums. You only get free speech from the government, but if you come to my house to yell at me, you get no free speech.
I think that starting with suspending certain repeat offenders for a month would clear the air. If they offend again, even just to complaint about the suspension, zap them again and this time for good.
Since some claim “there are other places where one can speak freely” than go there with your venom.
I come here for information. Diatribes about whose game has the best grass that end up in a shouting match and 30 posts between 2 users yelling at each other are not what I come here for,/.

They’ve been warned to behave already so it’s up to them if they want to listen or not. If they are up to speed with the posting rules they will know what can happen if they don’t.
And as I am not American, I don’t recognise the 1st amendment anyway. Free speech is a myth btw. But that’s a whole other debate for another time and place.

Yes, it’s been an issue with their newer shadow tech though, Motegi and Suzuka do the same. The older style shadows (which can still be used) don’t have that issue, but also eat more performance.

Answer me this Shannon: If the Ford GT was claimed to be perfect by iRacing, why has it had atleast 4 different versions of it over it’s life span that drive nothing alike? Which means that one of them if not all weren’t “the most realistic simulation of a Ford GT”

I’ve really only seen one on here.
His comments are so outlandish I’d be amazed if it ruined anything for anyone. I can understand some criticism for iracing but a lot of these trolls are way off base and clearly want to defend their choice of playing another sim instead of being a member of iracing by completely bashing it. Official has no change for now, they say they will evaluate after this season when they see how it behaves. Sounds like the ‘realistic’ option will have variation during the race, including temp and wind gusts.

Arguably yes, but if someone comes here and say ‘I don’t like the look of it” I don’t immedeatly think troll. I think “Well, that person is probably more used to games like for instance a pCars which have a different style”. But too many people lately seem to only have a tunnelvision which makes every other opinion redundant and automatically a troll.

i just recorded this today, 1st irace of the day, in arguably one of the easiest cars to drive in iracing. Everybody say TRUE!
and now, all these poor people have to wait 4 hours if they want to do the race again. brilliant.

Typical race start? I’m not so sure. It doesn’t eliminate crashes, but it definitely reduces them. Week 13 seems to be the proof of this, specifically with the unofficial ‘fun’ series traditionally being crash fests compared to official series.
If you missed it, the 4-hour schedules are going back to 2 hours. The experiment didn’t work, so they’re going back.

Well first of all, in any F1 car it’s easy to get tangled up at the start and cause crashes like that. Has nothing to do with iracing, that can happen in any sim and you’re lying if you say otherwise.
Secondly, one of the easiest cars to drive? Are you nuts? That’s one of the most sensitive and twitchy cars in the whole sim, what the hell is easy about that? Of all the cars I have, the Lotus 79 probably require the smoothest inputs of anything. Equal with the FW31.
Plus, even if it was easy, which it’s not, it’s still extremely difficult to master.
It’s far from one of the easier cars in iracing. It’s one of the toughest on the road side of it.

you must be a noob then, because the lotus 79 is one of the few cars in iracing that lets you play with the slip angle of the car, and doesn’t suddenly break traction like the star mazda or Honda LMP2 car does.
clearly you dont have any car control then. That video that i linked was literally my first ever go in the car at Spa. I know the track, had never driven the car, for real. Dunno if iRacing logs mileage in the cars so I can prove that.
its very controllable around the limit. I bet youre using fanatec wheels with belt resistance, probably why you can’t control it.

there is no racing on iracing due to the stupid damage model and safety rating system. that is my point.
i have to race for SR to get to class A license so i can finally drive the F1 cars…… pretty simple to understand.
if you try and properly race, there is a 50% chance you will get tangled up with someone and unable to avoid it, or get caught in an accident happening up front, or nudge the guy next to you causing the whole car to be undriveable due to the dumb damage model.
