World of Tanks for the beginner

Short tutorial : How to become a good or improved player in world of tanks.

Platooning Matters -

One if you want to horse around and play silly make two accounts. If you want to

become a good or serviceable player read on.

When I started I platooned with few people that just did not care, just played the game as if it was a joke. Amount of losing battles I was in I still pay for years later when it comes to win percent.

1 - Be careful who you platoon with. If person you platoon with plays with no strategy

or does not care about winning or losing or getting better use the silly account or stay away from them.

That platoon mate will drag your win lose record and kill ratio and xp through the mud.

Once you go on a huge losing streak it is hard to recover and also bad habits you gain from playing

with bad players will hurt your play.

Quick Review :

~ Stay away from people that don't care. Or play stupid.

~ make 2nd account for stupid play or testing or platooning with idiot friends

On the other end find players willing to play smart or that have high hit ratios or kill rates.

Team / Platoon with them and

mirror them learn how they succeed.

Replays : Take your time to watch the replays, you can learn and see your mistakes

as well as mistakes others make to help

you learn how to react or counter move.

Tanks / Crew

Find a tank that you like and stick with it. Level the crew to its max.

Leveled crew will make you shine on the field especially in tier one to tier 5.

Strong tanks that you can benefit from :

Tier IV Matilda - this tank can take a hit and it is amazing tank to platoon with

or level up crew.

Marder 38T - amazing range and hard hitting

BDR Heavy - good gun and can take a hit in t1 -4

LTP - (free tank premium) fast, good gun depression

All of the above great for leveling crews. I think best way to level crews is stay in the lower t1 - t4 matches.

Play smart and find couple other guys that want to play smart you can really improve hit ratio and player rating with the above tanks.

Pick your FIGHTS

This is most important no matter what tank your in. No matter what your skill level is...

After 50 to 100 matches you will know the pattern of how the norm is to play lanes in matches.

If your in a small t3 tank you want to avoid slugging it out with a Matilda or a B2 740, so use cover, watch where other tanks are shooting.

Track or break other tanks tracks so your team can own them... even if you might not be able to damage a tank breaking

there movement can be just as valuable.

Play smart, if you have 4 hp left and trying to slug it out well that is just dumb play. Hide and stay alive. Just taking cover and being a spotter or a scout benefits the team and can end up scoring you a win just by signaling.

Count tanks, use the mini map and count the tanks, deduct the odds and think about how your tank will match against

tanks spotted on the mini match, sometimes mid way you might have to change plan mid attack.

Sometime I know a huge group of tanks is in front of me and I can stop or slow them just by sitting behind a structure.

Buying time for my team to push the other side.

Other times I might think I can't kill any of them but can retreat and go up other side or map and kill the arty.

Weighing out these obstacles and making GOOD DECISIONS can be the difference between wins, kills and success.

Sometimes you will make a decision that seems good but fails, well doing is learning, just remember how what and why.

This game is a learning experience, you have to remember prior matches and trends. Know when to push and and when to be patient is something you need to remind yourself of constantly ... DON'T expect your random team to be teammates, you will have to react to them not expect them to react to you. You must use them as pawns if need be to get the most xp out of your battles.

World of tanks is very much a chess match, with pawns to bishops, knights to Kings on the map. Be smart and and you can slowly move up the ranks from being pawn.

Learn your strengths if your in a pawn like tank with a low level crew do you want to fight the kings of the match every battle? Or put yourself in a position to take out multiple other pawns to make other teams king weaker each time he loses another pawn?
