Veidt OS

Source: Watchmen (Movie) - 2009

This was seen near the end when the heroes are going through Ozymandias's computer and find the incriminating evidence

When opened, you will be presented with a login screen. Click it to login. If you want to skip the login animation, just click again.

Then you will be at the desktop. Like the OS it was based up, you will have to double-click to open folders (click twice within 1 second of each other)

The top right icon will open the File Explorer. Everything else is as it was in the movie.

The incriminating evidence is in Diskette/Office Pro

The Unit Converter is in Nostalgia\Convert Units

The menu bar at the time will perform various actions depending on which window is in-focus/top-most. Clicking an item will bring down a dropdown menu with more options. Dimmed items, and the dotted lines cannot be clicked

The icons at the left and right will stay the same regardless of what window is in-focus

The left icon:

Help - view this page

Restore - switch between the original/accurate aspect ratio (4:3) and fullscreen

Shutdown - Go back to the SCIFI-UI

The right icon:

Stop playback of an audio file (will be a ► icon when audio is playing)

Exit:

This menu item (usually in the File menu) will always close the in-focus window

A window is made up these parts:

Titlebar - The top of the window, containing it's name. By dragging the titlebar, you can move the window. If the virtual mouse cursor is near the left/top/right edges of the screen, a dotted outline will show how the window will be resized when you let of the mouse (similar to the Snap feature of Windows 7) When a window is in focus, it will have a turquoise bar that goes across the titlebar. When a window is not in focus, the titlebar will be blank.

Close button - Located at the left corner of the titlebar, this will close the window

Sub-bar - The line of text sometimes present underneath the titlebar. When present, it can also be dragged to move the window around (since the titlebar is so small)

Body - The biggest part of the window which contains the content of the window.
