About Taiwanese artist in the Festival of Nations:
This year we will have 8 folk artists coming from Taiwan to join us as their first stop of 2010 Taiwanese American Heritage Week North American Tour. These artists specialize in the following crafts: lion head decoration (彩繪獅頭), blown candy figurines (吹糖), gourd carving, oil-paper umbrella (瓢刻、美濃傘、葫蘆雕), silhouette paper-cutting (剪影), tree balk and straw art (樹皮、吸管), flour dough figurines (捏麵), puppet show dolls (布袋戲), aboriginal Taiya tapestry (泰雅族編織及刺繡). They will show their skills at Festival of Nations, in Bazaar/Demo area on Thursday and Friday.
While you are at the festival, don't forget to visit our award-winning Cultural Exhibit booth. The Taiwanese booth has won Award of Excellence in Cultural Exhibit for the past 16 consecutive years. This year's exhibit theme is "Folklore, Legends and Heroes".
