Welcome to Ms. Chen's Chinese class. Here are the list of objectives we may learn in this semester.
1. Recognize the four tones of Chinese pronunciation.
2. Practice the sound and combination of Chinese vowels and consonants (We will learn BoPoMo first and then switch to Pin-Yin).
3. Match Chinese characters with concrete objects (with flash cards/stickers).
4. Learn basic patterns of short sentences.
5. Get familiar with Chinese culture and festivals.
6. Participate in Chinese cultural activities.
7. Write basic Chinese characters.
8. Listen to short kid's stories.
Try to answer the following questions:
1. What motivates me to learn Chinese?
2. How much time will I commit to practice Chinese every day?
3. What is the goal in this class I set up for myself?
You will make a big progress when you commit to study Chinese for at least 10 minutes every day. However, each person may come with different levels of Chinese to this class. No matter which level you start with, you may always learn more if you challenge yourself to learn and will benefit from helping others to learn as well. As the Chinese saying says, "教學相長 (Teachers and students help each other to learn more)", let's help one another to learn with our best in our Chinese class.
