Nouns ending in ch, x, z, s, ss, add -es

If a noun ends in a consonant and -y, change the -y to i and add -es
berry/ berries, spy/spies
Irregular Nouns change spelling
mouse/mice child/children
Most nouns that end in f or fe, change the f to v and add -es
leaf/leaves wife/wives
Some nouns have the same singular and plural form
sheep deer moose headquarters series
For compound nouns, make only the important words plural
fathers-in-law secretaries-of-state
Nouns ending in a vowel and o, add -s
video/videos radio/radios
Check for nouns ending in a consonant and o
photo/photos potato/potatoes tomato/tomatoes hero/heroes
