On Friday, January 24, I visited my local Target to locate some low tech writing tools.
My goal was to find as many low tech writing tools in The One Spot ($1-3 items).
These erasable whiteboards by Board Dudes with handwriting lines are $1.
And, a two pack of black erasable markers for $1.
The One Spot also had these dry erase activity kits for $1. This is a good resource for young learners.
I found this pack of 8 blank books for $3 which is great for encouraging creative writing.
4-pack of thin Crayola Markers
Packs of Encouraging Stickers for $1
The small circle stickers can also be used to mark paper to indicate locations to begin writing.
Washi Tape $1
Washi tape is all the rage right now. It comes in all different colors and designs. Kids love it! Washi tape can be placed in lines on paper to help students write in straight lines. Or, small pieces can be placed on the side of paper to tell kids where to begin writing. A piece of washi tape can be wrapped around a pencil or pen to show the student where to place their hand for writing. Washi tape can be used to decorate composition books, folders and other classroom items.
Letter stamp kits for $3
The home/office supply department of Target has pencil training grips for $1.92.
And, a Dr. Grip ball point pen by Pilot for $5.99. This is the most expensive item in my low tech writing kit.
A pack of 6 ball point pens with grips for $4.04.
