Description

At the end of this activity, students should be able to:

– discuss the formation of covalent bonds

– indicate which elements form covalent bonds

– explain the terms: Lewis dot-and-cross diagrams, structural formula and molecular formula

– name the non-metals that occur in nature in the form of diatomic molecules

– illustrate simple diatomic molecules using molecular formulae, structural formulae and Lewis diagrams

– explain how multiple bonds are formed.
