Where are the mushroom grown?
Mushrooms are grown in Moss Landing,California
Where can you buy?
They have a store in San Francisco Ferry Building. At the store you can get fresh mushrooms depending on what is in season.
They also supply different grocery stores, I know I see their fresh shiitake in Whole Foods.
Online store (but selection is limited) - need to call to see if they have other mushrooms you are interested in or go to the store in person

Mushrooms from Far West Fungi - are the fruiting body of the mushroom. They provide fresh or dried.
Lots of the mushrooms you can cook with.
There are medicinal mushrooms that are too woody to put in a meal, and you have to do hot water extraction.
Hot Water Extraction:
1) Put a bunch of powdered mushroom, in water, bring to a boil, and then put a lid on and lower the temperature, and let the water boil for 1-2 hours. The longer the better.
2) Drink it like a tea - always add lemon. (Optional - honey for taste)
What are some mushrooms to get:
Mushrooms that I buy are shiitake, maitake, chaga, matsutake, turkey tails, reishi and lions mane. When I get them, if they are not in powder form, and i want to make a tea out of them, i first put them in the grinder to get them to powder. Then do hot water extraction.
Side Note:
FYI. My dad who has pancreatic cancer stage 4 - is doing great, and he is drinking tea made of these mushrooms. Another man with stage 4 colon cancer is also doing great drinking the same mushrooms.
