Personal Development Paper
Standard II states “The competent teacher understands how individuals grow, develop, and learn and provides learning opportunities that support the intellectual, social, and personal development of all students.” Through my educational psychology class, I learned about the stages of development, what impact teachers have over children's development from an early age, and grow in my passion for teaching
My paper for my educational psychology course would be appropriate for this standard since I learned how to teach children as they go through their developmental stages. As a teacher, you need to form a bond with the child, and parent. Even more so, parents need to feel comfortable with the student’s teacher, knowing that you only have the student’s best interest at heart, while developing a sanctuary that will nurture and educationally enrich our student's safe environment where they can flourish.
