It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

I am so excited about what the future holds as a lead or resource teacher. I am a full-time employee as a substitute and a support teacher, a wife, and a mother of four wonderful grown children. Born and raised in Ireland, I moved here when I was 20 years old, so I have amalgamated my studies from both continents into one setting.
After raising my own children and combing twelve years of full-time classroom experience, I can't see a better time to raise the bar as a professional teacher. I really feel like the world is my oyster, as I continue to open myself up to new knowledge and technology, where others can benefit. It is my passion and pleasure to serve!
I was fortunate to partner up in a writers workshop pilot program in 5th Grade during my student teaching. We collaborated as a team using two mentor text writing instructor books; Awakening Brilliance in the Writer's Workshop, by Lisa Morris, accompanied by The Responsive Writing Teacher by Melanie Meehan & Kelsey Sorum, and of course, adding in anchor charts by the wonderful Jennifer Serravallo's Writing Strategies Book. Jennifer Serravallo is the queen of reading and writing strategies for all literacy levels.
